About

Today’s women are engulfed by many things that call for their attention – financial demands, family needs, career and academic goals, and at the same time; they are also required to serve God effectively.

In a move to address the needs of modern professional and enterprising women of all age groups, Ruth Emmanuel-Makandiwa established a mentorship program called ‘Femme De Substance’ (a French term which translates to Women of Substance). The name Femme De Substance was derived from Luke 8:1-3 which speaks about Women of Substance – Women who were influential in their community and at the same time serving and supporting the ministry of Jesus Christ.

Ruth Emmanuel-Makandiwa’s objective in the launch of FDS is to mould and groom today’s Christian women into becoming women of substance who are self-reliant, influential with class, ambitious and goal-driven – a generation of God-fearing women of great substance who are industrious and successful in all of their endeavours.

Through its various programs and initiatives, FDS strives to equip women with relevant information regarding business, entrepreneurship, career management whilst uplifting them spiritually with the Word of God. The anticipated result of this initiative is an exclusive group of confident, influential, significant, and impactful Christian women who are goal-oriented and productive.
