BUILDING CONFIDENCE

Tasha's Trends is a fashion brand. It was birthed through the inspiration of Femme De Substance. It was an idea that came after one of the FDS meetings when our leader and visionary; Ruth Emmanuel-Makandiwa was teaching us on how we can be independent and explore as women in business. I started my business mid 2023 even though I did not have a shop as yet. I moved around town in Harare convincing people to purchase from me, because our founder encouraged us to start from somewhere. I sold in saloons and oftentimes from the boot of my vehicle whereafter people would ask for my contacts.

Through Femme De Substance I personally gleaned a lot of information that will enable me to run my business efficiently. One of the strategies that I am using is trusting my product and going for quality which is what also gave me my first handful of customers. I have managed to retain my initial clientele and they are the first people to purchase any new collections that I get in stock. With my acquired knowledge of the business, I learnt that not everyone that you approach will express interest in your products or purchase them there and then. In other instances, I have come across customers that have even criticized my products; however, my customer service approach and style of communication always incites them to end up becoming my clientele. Through Ruth Emmanuel-Makandiwa I learnt to carry myself well and to be presentable so that I also convince customers to look good so they can feel good about themselves.
Through FDS I also learnt that it's not money that I should always prioritize but quality and excellence. Tasha's Trends has a wide range of women's clothing that ranges from Corporate Wear, Exclusive Outfits, Simple trendy looks, Winter Wear ,2- and 3-piece outfits, Summer Outfits and a lot more. Tasha's Trends has a vision to make all women feel special and build their confidence through fashion. I feel very excited about establishing my business because I love fashion a lot and I feel good around fabric especially beautiful textiles.
"Dress for success: There's a correlation between how you dress and how you feel. The clothes your wear can have a positive impact on your confidence."
